Advocacy for persons with disabilities who have experienced abuse.
The Initiative provides comprehensive, creative, and collaborative services to survivors of DV/IPV, Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, Stalking, and Caregiver/Elder Abuse with a Physical, Cognitive, Sensory, Health-related, Emotional, or Developmental Disability. Our programs are rooted in an accessible, culturally-responsive, and trauma-informed (ACRTI) approach to address survivors’ complex goals and objectives through services in four categories: safety, self-sufficiency, criminal justice support, and recovery and healing. Advocates at The Initiative respect each client’s right to self-determination and provide appropriate and necessary services to best meet each unique individual’s safety needs.
