Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley provides a comprehensive system of programs and services to address the needs of victims of domestic abuse.

Brief description of services provided

Safe Shelter provides a comprehensive system of programs and services to address the needs of individuals affected by Domestic Violence, Elder Abuse, Human Trafficking and Teen Dating Violence. All of our services are free, confidential, bilingual (English/Spanish), bicultural, open and affirming, and available 24/7. We provide the following services: 24-hour crisis line, Emergency shelter, Individual and group counseling, Case management, Legal advocacy, Community and peer education, and Information and referrals.

Good to know (internal only)
  • Safehouse for survivors of IPV, HT, & Elder Abuse in imminent danger
  • ID Required – anything w name, does not need photo & can be expired
    • can bypass requirement if emergency/in danger
  • Hotel Stay available when full (partner w 2 hotels – ID required)
  • Pet-Friendly: dogs, cats, & small animals w current vax documentation
  • Transportation: Not Provided (small possibility if in emergency situation in Longmont)
  • Couples: No
  • Spanish-speaking staff – Sensitive to LGBTQAI+ & LatinX

Referrals

  • Full nearly every night (hotel stay avail)
  • Survivor must call – Bed availability will NOT be shared with Advocate.
  • Phone Screen required
  • Beds never held more than 24 hours

  • Type: Confidential Safehouse Stay: Case-by-Case
  • Space: Shared rooms (2-3 singles or 1 family)
    • Rooms usually separated by gender – transgender survivors asked preference/comfort level when determining room (identity disclosure to roommates is their choice)
  • ADA: Accessible Pets: allowed w current vax doc Safety: 24 hr staff, overnight alarm
  • Rules/Reqs: 10p curfew; max 1 suitcase + 1 personal item
  • Addt’l Services: Case Management, Bus passes, Clothing, Non-clinical Support Groups, Legal Services
